Hustle and grind are words I hear often these days.
"In order to be successful you need to hustle and grind." But why? What does "hustle and grind" mean to the person who is saying this? Perhaps more importantly, what does "success" mean to the person who is saying this? Does a tree need to hustle and grind in order to accomplish what it's here for? No. As long as it has everything it needs it accomplishes everything with ease. Hustle and grind are words that feed our egos. It feels good when we tell somebody that we work from 5:00am to 11:00pm seven days a week. We're important because we're busy. What if hustling and grinding is actually slowing us down? If you could accomplish more by doing less, would you? I'm not saying not to go after your dreams. What I'm saying is that life should not feel like a struggle. Nature flows and life should be the same. Are there ups and downs? Yes. Just like seasons throughout a year, your life will have seasons. But you can make the most of all the seasons. Do you feel like you are being pulled towards something or does it feel like you are pushing a boulder up a hill? I challenge you (and myself) to replace the hustle and grind with flow and ease. P.S. If you are in Ottawa this evening, join us at Younion Meditation Studio for our One Year Celebration from 6-8pm. Come experience what flow and ease can feel like. Comments are closed.
