When things are simple, the mind says "that can't be right." It has trouble trusting things that are simple. It wants an explanation.
A tree, for example, needs good soil, water and sun to grow. Simple on the surface but complex when you dig into how it does this. Do I need to know the complex workings of a tree to understand and trust the process? No, but the mind wants it. When I think of my life, simplicity comes from my intuition. Deep down I always know what I need to do and what is right for me in that moment. But then my mind gets in the way and tries to rationalize everything and turns it into a complex mess that takes me off track. My heart and gut have never steered me in the wrong direction. My mind on the other hand... Well... Let's say I'm still working on fixing those complex workings. Where are you adding complexity to your life that, if you listened to your soul, would be simple? We all have a vision for our lives. There are things we want to buy, places we want to visit, relationships we want to create, experiences we want to have and a person we want to become.
But most of us keep this vision bottled up. We keep it to ourselves because we think people will think it's dumb and impossible to achieve or, even worse, we think it's dumb and impossible. But look around. People all around us are making their dreams happen. There are amazing people doing phenomenal things from all walks of life. So it's definitely possible... Below is my vision for my life. I'm putting it out there. I'm surrendering to the universe and will act on what the universe puts in front of me to make this happen. I will no longer slow it down.
This WILL happen. Do I know how or when? No. But it does not matter. It's already in the works. The universe is lining everything up perfectly and all I need to do is say YES! What's your vision? When are you going to be courageous enough to share it? The universe is waiting for you.
"There is a principle of Mathematics, but none of error; there is a principle of health, but none of disease; there is a principle of truth, but none of dishonesty; there is a principle of light, but none of darkness, and there is a principle of abundance, but none of poverty."
-- from "The Master Key System" by Charles F. Haanel Principles work. If something is not working for you, perhaps you are not following the principles. When you lose a sense, your other senses become heightened.
Why is this? Could it be because you put more energy and focus into the other senses because you have to depend on them more? If this is the case, can we tap into these heightened senses whenever we want? Close your eyes and do a test. Actually, close your eyes, sit still and focus on your breath for 10 minutes. Or, if you think this is too hard... Turn your phone off for a day. Is there something you have become too dependant upon? Remember, you have other senses (and other ways of communicating). The picture below shows what I see every morning I turn on my computer. It's a reminder that life is too short to waste. Take in every moment and live your fullest life. Surround yourself with people you love and who love you. Go after your dreams. Flow with the events that life puts in front of you. Smile, laugh, cry and hug more. Take time for yourself. Find somebody to share with. And remember... "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." Why do we put so much time into worrying?
We worry about if we're working on the right thing today, who our children will grow up to become, if we made the right investments or if our spouse is happy. We worry about eating the right food and where the next client will come from or, if you are not an entrepreneur, whether or not we will have a job next week. We worry about if we said the right thing at the event yesterday or if we're going to say the right thing tomorrow. We worry about the clothes we wear, the weather and where we're going to be next year or in 10 years or in 25 years. I'm worrying about whether or not this is the right post to write today... What if instead of worrying we decided to trust. Replace the word "worry" with "trust" and watch the beauty of the universe unfold in front of you. Do everything in your power and trust that you are doing the best you can with what you know right now. Because you are. Trust that you are exactly where you are suppose to be, doing exactly what you are suppose to be doing, with the people you are suppose to be with. Trust that life is happening FOR you. I trust it's the right thing to do. "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you mind find, you get what you need." There is a lot of truth and depth to these lyrics.
By wanting something you are acting as if you don't have it so the universe will continue to give you more "wanting" as opposed to the actual thing you want. You need to act as if you already have it. I know... It's confusing... Let's put it this way... You get what you think about most. The issue is that most of us think we need something else as opposed to appreciating what we already have. Does that mean we should not have high aspirations? Absolutely not! That's one of the things that keeps me going. The key is to not be set on how you're going to get there or when it's going to happen. The universe works faster than we think if we allow it to. Let go of the control, put the intention out there and let the energy flow. If you are always thinking about the negative things that "could" happen, then you will get more negative things because that is where your energy is going. If you spend most of your time thinking about the great things that "will" happen, great things will happen because that is now the energy you are putting out there. To some extent this is training the mind to always look on the bright side. I know it's cheesy and may seem like BS but how has the alternative been working for you? I would much rather surround myself with positive people and positive thoughts. But don't be fooled... Positivity does not mean naive. Too much of a good thing (even if you love it) will eventually turn to a bad thing.
A good thing will only stay a good thing if consumed in the proper doses and at the right time. Eating food feels good when you are hungry but if you eat all the time you will get sick. Spending time with the person you love can be the greatest thing in the world but if you spend every waking moment with that person eventually you will not want to be with each other anymore. Exercising is a necessity to stay healthy but over exercising will cause issues in all sorts of ways. Whatever it is that you love, give it the space it needs. It's the only way to keep the love strong. That question triggers me for some reason (at least when my wife asks me).
When I hear that question my brain automatically goes to all the "problems" I had to deal with that day. Then it starts stacking all of them and by the end of my verbal diarrhea I feel like crap (no pun intended). Deep down I know that problems are actually opportunities. Life is unfolding as it needs to and I will never understand the whole plan. I just need to stay focused on what's in front of me in any given moment. The most important thing right now is what's in front of me. And when my wife asks me that question what she is really saying is "I would like to talk right now." The only reason I feel like crap is because I'm allowing my mind to let me feel that way. I need to train my mind to focus on the great. There are hundreds of things to be grateful everyday. There is always a silver lining. That's where silence comes into play. When I get silent, I find the real answers. When I separate myself from my thoughts, I never get triggered. I only react negatively when I'm stuck in my head. Visualization is powerful. It can help you manifest things beyond your wildest dreams. But it needs to be done properly...
The trick with visualization is that you need to get beyond the HOW. If you want to manifest $1,000,000 or the person of your dreams, don't focus on how you're going to do it because you only know the "how" based on your current life experiences. Your mind limits you. Instead you need to visualize the WHAT. What do you want? What do you want to feel? Who do you want to help? Who do you have to become? Let the universe take care of the how. In reality you have no idea how you're going to achieve these things. That's why it's so hard to believe and that is why you need to trick your mind. If you focus on the how, you're going to slow yourself down because you'll be thinking of all these things you "can't" do or don't know how to do (or don't want to do).
I want to help 1,000,000 men become the heroes they are meant to be by the end of 2020. I have no idea how I'm going to do this but I'm putting it out there and I'm visualizing it. All I need to do is let the pieces fall into place and take action when I'm called upon. One of the actions I was pulled towards recently was to start Lean In with Casey Grey. So far so good! The latest thing I was pulled towards was to offer coaching to a select few. I have no idea where this is going to lead but it's out there and we'll see what happens. A mens group is also in the works and I had more things happen today that has pulled that forward. All I need to do is show up and act on my intuition. The universe works fast and I have every intention to go along for the ride. |
